September 2011 - God's Grace in Forgiveness
As we approach September 11th this year, the world will be remembering the tenth anniversary of the event that many believe changed the world at a stroke. It also resulted in the introduction of a new word into the English language - "nine-eleven".
Each week at CFSR we remember an event that did change the course of history - the death of Jesus the Son of God on the Cross. It was through Jesus death and ressurection that God demonstrated his amazing grace; it is because of this crucifiction that we can be forgiven and reconciled to God.
Many in this land of Cambodia understand the consequences of mindless violence and destruction. Some become bitter and seek revenge. Some experience the grace of God in their lives and turn to Christ. One who did that after the destruction of his family before his eyes as a young boy is Sokreaksa Himm. Reaksa has written his story in two books 'The Tears of my Soul' and 'After the Heavy Rain'.
On this tenth anniversary of New York's 'killing fields', at CFSR we will hear Reaksa share about God's Grace in Forgiveness from Ephesians 4:32- 5:2. Plan to be with us to hear how God brings the light of hope in the midst of such darkness.
